Topic: Chemotherapy

What a great week Iam having and hopefully another one next week before I head off to my third chemo treatment.Today I have been and had a fitting for a wig and feeling very good about it all. This is my third round of chemo and after some really bad experiences with the last round of treatments I was very close to giving this round a miss, well I am so pleased that I didn't because it has so far been quite a different experience altogether.Thank you to my family for all there help especially Nic who is always there as a back up ,giving me some moral support when needed.Thank you Nic for all the hard work you are putting into this site ,it is nice to know that you are helping so many,Iam very proud of what you are achieving here.

Re: Chemotherapy

Today has finally arrived ,Iam off to have my wig fitted and hair shaved.I thought I was well prepared for this but now very nervous about it all.Roll on lunch time,I have butterfly's just thinking about it.I am still feeling well and pleased that I have had a couple of good weeks before going in to my next treatment on Tuesday. Will keep you informed as to how it all goes.

Re: Chemotherapy

Half way,my third treatment was the easiest yet no sickness which has been a blessing.Getting used to my new look; wig, scarves, turbans and hats . I'm trying them all only thing I haven't tried is going out of the house with my bald head(its too cold anyway ).

Re: Chemotherapy

Hi Judith
I'm really pleased for you that it's going so well for you so far.
You really need to go to Orlando, Florida with your bald head - it's a toasty 30+ celcius there.
Best of luck for this week xxx

Re: Chemotherapy

Hi to you all out there,my chemo has now finished and a little hair is starting to grow back but I am happy now with my new look. What a hectic time it has been ,thank you to all those who helped Nicola with the conference what a tremendous help it has been for every one.Last week I lost my sister to ovarian cancer,it was through her that my family discovered the BRCA gene we will always be grateful for this and will always have her in our hearts, thank you Linda.

Re: Chemotherapy

Hi Jude - it was good to see you on Saturday am, and the hair looks very, very chic. It really suits you!
I was so sorry to hear about your sister. But the knowledge she has left is already invaluable. It must be such a relief to know that at least your own daughter is going to dodge that one. I know I worry a lot about my own...
How great to be through the chemo just in time for Xmas xxx
