Topic: Breast Cancer, Treatment & BRCA2+

I just wanted to introduce myself - I'm 37 years old - I have IDC stage 111c.   I have just completed my second round of cemo which thank god went better than my first,  think the new anti sickness drugs worked a treat.  Am hoping the next round goes better again.  Some days I feel normal and others I just want to sleep.  I am having 4 rounds of EC every 3 weeks followed by 12 weekly rounds of Taxel.  This seems a long and lonely journey and am pleased to have found a sight such as this.  I am looking forward to the conference in October to meet others like me.

Re: Breast Cancer, Treatment & BRCA2+

Hi PHC
Not long to go now to the conference! It'll be great to connect with everyone.
On a less happy note, I'm really sorry to hear about what you're going through. I had prophylactic mastectomies and was really lucky to get away 'clean'. It must be so hard for you.
Are you BRCA positive, or do you have a strong family history? 37 is young for invasive cancer. Too young sad

Re: Breast Cancer, Treatment & BRCA2+

Hi twonewboobs, thanks for your post - looking forward to conference and meeting everyone.  My dad tested positive for BRCA2 the week before I found my lump.  I have since found out I am also BRCA2+.  I have 3 girls so am pleased I have all this knowledge for them but am also determined to beat this thing for them and my family.  BC has only shown up in my family over the last year?  Scary and so randam....
